The
number of Form Six leavers joining the National Services, has dropped
from 31,900 in 2014 to 14,747 in 2015, the Parliament was told on
Tuesday.
This
represents 52 per cent decline. The Minister for Defence and National
Service, Dr Hussein Mwinyi, told the Parliament that 31,900 students out
of 41,968 who completed their advanced level education in 2014 joined
the national service compared to 14,747 students, who completed their
advanced level education joined the national service.
